School Finals

During phase 1 we were lucky enough to have an extra week of study time before the exams. This time we only had two days, but we can be proud of our results and progress as a group.

To summarize: 7 exams in 3 days time.
Day 1: Flight Planning / General Navigation
Day 2: Mass and Balance / Air Law / Operational Procedures
Day 3: Performance / Radio Navigation

The first day was a tough one. Both exams were exhausting and we had to work hard in order to finish in time.

Our second day was more about theoretical knowledge with courses such as Air Law and Operational Procedures. Mass and Balance was a very short exam with a few exercises.

Performance wasn’t too difficult and I felt quite confident about my own performance (I guess that was a bad joke). Radio Navigation was a surprise for all of us, but the results were just fine!

You might be asking yourself why we only had one weekend to study. Allow me to explain!

There are many flight schools in Europe and they all follow the same rules and regulations. It’s not easy to schedule all the exams which take place on a daily basis which also explains why we had an extra week of study time in phase 1.

Our departure to the US won’t change which basically means that we lose one week of holiday. To be honest I am happy that we could do it this way. Study time is always greatly appreciated!

Afer the EASA exams, I will provide you with a summary of the exams and the results. You can also expect to see an article about my view on the whole theoretical training.
